About Blue Ridge

Our Story

In 2015, Jason and Julie Free bought their first weekend cabin in Blue Ridge with the thought of retiring there in 10 – 15 years. They both have extensive property management and real estate experience in North Georgia and are licensed sales agents with Keller Williams. Julie also has a gift for hospitality and she loves creating an environment where guests can relax and forget about their worries. Julie’s career in Hospitality started with Marriott Hotels, which included training in reservations, catering, front desk and housekeeping. Julie developed such a love for the Blue Ridge area and decided to combine that with her passion for hospitality to begin managing vacation rental cabins in 2018. The couple accelerated their timeline and now reside in their cabin on Fightingtown Creek full-time and are active members of the community.

Julie and Amy met in 2021 when Amy and her husband Chris first started visiting the Blue Ridge area where they fell in love with the mountains. Julie and Amy were quickly inseparable and began to envision a day when they could grow the vacation rental business together and provide guests with unmatched service and the same magical experiences that drew them both to The Blue Ridge Mountains in the first place.

Why Us?

Most management companies are playing a numbers game that requires numerous short term rentals in their inventory to cover overhead. To keep up with bookings and caring for the cabins, they hire hourly staff (i.e. cleaners and maintenance personnel) which requires them to manage additional properties in order to offset salary expenses. The addition of too many properties will spread the property manager thin therefore guest experience along with the physical properties begin to suffer. Additionally, when a company has numerous properties to manage, they tend to spread out the bookings between cabins, which negates their ability to curate a truly unique experience for each guest.

We see ourselves more as a boutique management company which allows us to cater to the needs of our guests and customize vacation experiences just for them. Purposefully staying small and managing growth allows us to provide a tailored, personalized and unforgettable experience for our guests.

FAQ's

What options are nearby for groceries? Food delivery?

There is a Wal-Mart and an Ingle’s grocery store in Blue Ridge (approx. 25-30 minute drive from all of the cabins). We highly recommend grabbing groceries on your way in to the cabin, or arranging concierge grocery delivery in advance of your arrival (requires 2 weeks notice).

Are there ride shares available in the area?

Ride shares are available but can be somewhat tricky. The best recommendation is calling ahead and making arrangements well in advance of your planned event.

Are there local dining options?

There are several great restaurants in Blue Ridge and McCaysville with various pricing, reservations and walk-in dining options. Our play page has more information about cuisine as well as links to some of our favorites!

How far in advance do I need to consider booking outside excursions?

Depending on the excursion, many of the local outings are booked out 3-6 months in advance.
